ABSTRACT
Solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas (SPTP) are rare tumors, predominant in young women with etiopathogenesis still unclear, first described by Frantz in 1959. Their prognosis is generally good, treatment is based on surgery. Here we report the case of an 18-year-old girl with SPTP. The symptomatology was chronic evolving for 6 months made of atypical epigastralgia. The physical examination objectified a solid mass extended from the epigastrium to the left hypochondrium. The abdominal scanner showed a tissue mass at the expense of the body of the pancreas measuring 21x12x11cm. A pancreatectomy was performed. The diagnosis was confirmed by histological examination and immunohistochemistry.

Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is idiopathic autoimmune self-limiting disease. It was discovered by Professor Tomisakan Kawasaki in Japan in 1967. it is the second wide spread vasculitis disease in pediatric. Objectives: The present review is aimed to high light on the symptoms, epidemiology, etiology, pathology, complication, cardiac manifestation, diagnosis, and treatment of Kawasaki disease. It impacts children younger than 5 years old and is common in boys than girls. 85% of children KD younger than 5 years, peak age between 18-24 months. It is considered as common cause of acquired heart disease in children. It is widely spread in developed countries, and it is common in developing countries, such as China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. It is remarkable in summer to spring seasons of year particularly in China and Korea, winter and spring seasons in Europe and Australia. It is result from genetic and pathogenic causes by stimulation of immune system extra or over than normal response of body to bacterial or virus antigens. In all KD cases histological appearance like as myocarditis and fibrosis. It is a significant due to cardiac complications such as development of coronary abnormality in 25% of misdiagnosed groups, and 3-5% in resistance groups which treated by Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). Several clinical and laboratory manifestation rise risk of coronary artery abnormality which including fever for long duration, boys, old ages, prolonged increase levels of ESR and CRP, increasing count of white blood cells, normocytic normochromic anemia, hypoalbuminemia, and thrombocytopenia. Cardiac features of Kawasaki disease include heart failure, ECG abrormality, pericarditis, myocarditis, plural effusion, myocardial infarction, valvular incompetence. ABSTRACT
Background: Cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs) mainly hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, are on the rapid rise globally, with developing countries lagging behind in prevention efforts among high risk groups. We aimed at assessing pattern of CMD comorbidities among occupationally active older adults and the elderly, in a sub-urban setting in South West Nigeria. Methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted among staff of Babcock University and Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ogun State, Nigeria. Total enumeration of all staff that were 50 years or older was done, with conduction of their medical screening. Structured questionnaire was used to obtain data, with analysis done using SPSS 21.0. Result: Data was obtained from sixty-eight (68) subjects with mean age of 62.2 ± 5.4 years. Approximately two-thirds (44, 64.7%) were at least 60 years old, while one-third (22, 32.4%) were academic staff. Mean BMI was 28.6% ± 4.5 kg/m2, and most subjects (57.4%) were overweight. Approximately half of subjects (48.5%) had prediabetes (32.4%) or diabetes (16.2%). Hypertension, dyslipidemia, and metabolic syndrome, were found in 36.8%, 44.1%, and 13.2%, respectively. Forty-two subjects (61.8%) had one (15, 22.1%) or two (27, 39.7%) morbidities, while twenty six (38.2%) had at least three comorbidities. Among subjects with at least three comorbidities, hypertension, dysglycemia, and abnormal weight (34.6%) was the common comorbid combination. Significantly higher proportion of academic staff were diabetic, while non-academic staff were prediabetic (p=0.01). Conclusion: There is high prevalence of multiple cardiometabolic diseases comorbidities among older adults in an occupational setting. Abnormal weight was the most common factor found alongside other comorbidities, with diabetes and prediabetes being commoner among academic and non-academic staff, respectively. There is need to redouble our efforts towards practice of lifestyle modifications, especially among these higher
