ABSTRACT
This study was carried out on an adult population in Semi urban communities of Rivers State, Nigeria. The aim of the study is to determine if any relationship exist between blood glucose level and basal metabolic index. The subjects were randomly selected among the population and those who met the inclusion criteria were recruited and used for the study. They were apparently healthy subjects with no known history of a metabolic or any other form of chronic diseases. The sample size included a total of 168 subjects [108 males and 60 females] aged between 18 to 55 years. Clinical history and clinical examination methods were employed for sample/data collection. The height (m) and weight (kg) were measured using a stadiometer. The basal metabolic index (BMI) was calculated using the formula: (weight (kg) / height (m2). Random blood glucose (mg/dl) was obtained using a glucometer. The Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS version 21.0) was used for the analysis. The significance of differences between and among group means was tested using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple group means were compared using the post hoc test. To determine the link between variables, Pearson correlation analysis was used. Statistical significance was defined as a P- value of less than 0.05. In females, there was non-significant very low positive correlation between the blood glucose and the BMI. In addition, the mean level of glucose in blood for the different BMI categories did not show any significant difference when compared to normal BMI. In males, the mean blood glucose levels for all groups including overweight and obesed were not statistically significant when compared to the normal BMI. A Pearson correlation between blood glucose level and BMI indicated a non-significant markedly low positive correlation. In conclusion, it was discovered that there was a positive correlation between BMI and blood glucose levels in adult males and females in this study.

Background: Nowadays, Infertility is increasing worldwide. Many regimens are used in the treatment of infertility. Among them, a combination of oral aromatase inhibitor drugs and gonadotropin is recommended as a very effective regimen for inducing ovulation. But there is a scarcity of related data in the Bangladesh context. The present study was designed to compare the effect of letrozole and the combination of letrozole with low-dose intramuscular injection of HMG on ovulation and pregnancy. Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital from June 2020 to May 2021. A total of 95 patients with a history of infertility were selected as the study population according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from each patient. All of them were randomly distributed into two groups, group-A, and group B, by the flipping coin method, where group-A (Experimental group) patients received letrozole with low dose intramuscular injection of HMG (45 patients) and group B (Control group) patients received Letrozole only (50 patients). Relevant investigations were done, along with scheduled follow-ups. Results: Mean age of the study patients was 26.86±3.71 (SD) years, whereas the majority were ≤30 years (74.7%). Age was statistically similar among the patients of both groups. The endometrial thickness, follicular diameter, and a number of mature follicles were statistically higher among patients who received letrozole with low dose intramuscular injection of HMG than the patients who received only letrozole. Maximum follicular diameter ≥18mm (91.1%) in group-A among them (60%) achieved in 1st Cycle. Maximum endometrial thickness was achieved in the first Cycle in both groups (60% vs. 32%) among group-A patients. ABSTRACT
Foreign body inhalation is a life threatening emergency condition that commonly occur in children. A foreign body (FB) can be lodged in either the upper or lower airway or cause either a partial or complete airway obstruction. Complete obstruction of upper airway is a potentially life-threatening situation that causes severe respiratory distress and suffocation. Lower airway FB typically manifests with sudden-onset coughing and choking, followed by wheezing and dyspnea. We are presenting a case report of 3years old female child with a foreign body in the right bronchus intermediacy over one year. Patient was managed by performing thoracotomy after failed rigid bronchoscopy. This case is importance as to reduce the frequency of prescribing without throughout investigations.

ABSTRACT
Coccydynia is localized pain in the coccyx, exacerbated when sitting and getting up. The diagnosis is essentially clinical, the interrogation must always seek the notion of trauma in the history. Digital rectal examination is painful when mobilizing the coccyx. Standard X-rays, dynamic X-rays, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are quite important for both positive diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Therapeutic management is multidisciplinary, starting with hygiene measures, medical treatment and manipulation and massage techniques. Coccygectomy is proposed after failure of conservative treatments. Its results are generally good. Its main complication is infection.

ABSTRACT
The aim was to study the epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and therapeutic aspects of obstructive urinary calculi of the urinary tract. This was a prospective and descriptive study of 111 patients admitted to the urology department over a period of 6 years (January 2016 to December 2021). All patients with obstructive (symptomatic) urinary stones over 1.5 cm in diameter were included. Treatment results were analyzed 6 months later. Surgery for urolithiasis represented 4.10% of the interventions performed over the study period. The average age of the patients was 41 years old, with extremes of 1 and 81 years old. The age group 21 to 30 years was predominant, i.e. 24.3% of cases. The M/F sex ratio was 2.26. Renal colic was the main reason for consultation, i.e. 72.1%. Staphylococci, E. coli and Enterococci were respectively 22.5%; 21.6% and 12.6%. The operative technique used was open surgery. The postoperative course was simple in 92.8% and complicated in 7.2%.
